Laconia Water Works
The EPA recommends that Americans continue to use and drink tap water as usual. The presence of COVID-19 has not been detected in drinking water supplies and based on current evidence the risk to water suppliers is low. Conventional water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection, as we do, should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. At this time, there are no indications that COVID-19 is in the drinking water supply or will affect the reliable supply of water. Please refer to EPA and CDC’s messaging about safety of drinking water:
• EPA Coronavirus and Drinking Water and Wastewater
• CDC Water Transmission and COVID-19
